What vaccine will I be receiving?
It is the Moderna vaccine. Everyone receiving the first vaccination will get a call about 3 weeks later to schedule their appointment for a booster vaccine.
What do I need to bring with me?
Any form of identification. You do not need to provide verification of employment, age, or health conditions.
How much does it cost? Do I need insurance?
There is no cost to you, nor is your insurance billed. This public health program is sponsored by the Jersey City Department of Health & Human Services, the NJ Dept of Health, and the Federal Emergency Management Administration.
When is my appointment? Where do I go? Is there parking?
Those details will be handled in your scheduling call. If you do not have your own transportation, talk to the scheduler.
Who is eligible?
Anyone meeting NJ state criteria (from covid19.nj.gov):
- Healthcare Personnel
- First Responders
- Individuals aged 65 and older
- Individuals ages 16-64 with medical conditions, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that increase the risk of severe illness from the virus. These conditions include:
- Cancer
- Chronic kidney disease
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
- Down Syndrome
- Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
- Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
- Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
- Sickle cell disease
- Smoking
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
